East Nashville Placemaking Mural

The East Nashville Chamber of Commerce selected us to be a part of their ongoing place-making initiative. The goal was to use art as a way for Nashville visitors to find pockets of retail and food service on the east side. By pulling local business owners and artists together, the East Chamber was able to successfully install several murals to serve as location indicators. We worked closely with The Post Coffee and Juice Bar and the East Chamber to design a mural that not only incorporated the new East Nashville logo, but also gave a nod to the historic cable car that once connected East Nashville to downtown. We believe public art can be a great platform to build relationships. and that community participation is a powerful and enduring thing. So, it only made sense to organize a "come paint" night with live music, food trucks, and goodie bags for the kids. The mural is located on the corner of 17th and Fatherland, 37206.
